Solid surface is created by pouring stone pieces, acrylic, resin and other chemicals into a mold. It is heated and fabricated to form sheets for counter top use. The seamless material provides a durable, hygienic and non-porous surface.  Solid surface counter tops are often sold under such brand names as: Corian®, Gilbraltar and Staron.
